Has local realty companies bought the County Commission?
Commissioner Cornell represents the poorest county district
Buying more land to build a $23M animal shelter
$23M animal shelter to lock up dogs
Let the dogs roam on wild spaces the county owns
The Board of County Commissioners do not believe policies and decisions by prior boards acting under the direction of County Staff can ever fail; hence, the reason why the county is on auto-pilot when it comes to developer subsidies.
The most pressing issue is developer subsidies; it is too big to ignore. The mobility plan deal (MMTM) the county adopted in 2010 has done more damage to taxpayers than the city?s Bio-Mass deal. The urban cluster and MMTM are intricately linked in the comprehensive plan which has led to the rollout of many insidious policies. Those policies have not only had an adverse effect on both housing and infrastructure in the county; they are the drivers behind the call for more taxes.
